Dear Ms. Bjerregaard, My name is Andrea Cignoni, a 25 year - old Italian graduate in International Relations at Loughborough University with a Master of Arts in European Studies. I am writing to you because I am extremely interested in the position of intern at OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Throughout my academic career so far I have been developing a strong interest not only in international relations and politics in general but also in Communication - related issues as a whole. As a matter of fact, during my Erasmus year in Spain, one of my core modules was International Journalism, which provided me with a sound knowledge of media and their continuously changing environment. Furthermore, thanks to the internationality of my studies and experiences I have managed to gain a very good mastery of three foreign languages (English, Spanish and French). It is also worth mentioning other subjects that I have been studying in the last years that could be useful to your internship such as Security Studies, Political Analysis and Foreign Policy Analysis. In July 2014 I was chosen by my University Department to take part in a visit to the KFOR (Kosovo Force) mission in Pristina during which I acquired an invaluable insight on how major international organisations work in order to provide security and stability in troubled environments. Furthermore, during my internship at the European Parliament (TAXE secretariat, completed in July 2015) I have gained first - hand experience on how daily activities and policymaking of European institutions are carried out and decisions are shaped at both the European and international level. More precisely I provided support analyses, briefings and summaries on issues related to the Committee work. My contribution was also related to the updating of the TAXE website, the organisation of public hearings and the background notes for the TAXE ad hoc delegations. I am convinced that the above mentioned experiences and skills, together with a reliable and resilient attitude, could constitute a significant contribution to your internship. Thank you very much for your attention. Yours Faithfully
