School : SMK Tg. Budriah Time : 7.40 – 8.20 am.

Text : The Pearl

Aims : To introduce the theme of money before reading the novel.

Objectives :
Students should be able to:
1. listen to a poem and suggest a suitable title to the poem.
2. brainstorm ideas on the things that money can buy and things money cannot
buy.
3. present their findings to their teacher and peers.
4. state either agree or disagree with the statements given in the
Anticipation/Reaction Guide worksheet.
5. write a short response regarding the topic given.

Students’ Previous Knowledge :


Students are familiar with the theme “money” in L1 lesson and they know the
importance of money in life.

Materials required for the lesson :


1. “Money” poem
2. Brainstorm worksheet
