Power System Analysis

The subject mainly deals with the modelling of the system components
and analysing the system response based on the model. Power system
involves many components which interact with each other continuously.
Each component behaviour as well as their interaction with different
components vary largely based on the system condition. Hence it is a
hectic task to model the power system components. Also the system
behaviour further gets complicated considering the different controllers
and other periphery devices attached to the system as a whole as well as to
its components. Hence power system analysis can be subdivided into
different forms based on which behaviour of the system is of importance to
us. Based on what characteristic of the system is of importance simplifying
assumptions are made for different types of studies.
