SRA Program
Reading Mastery for Grades
K, 1, and 2
Corrective Reading for
Grades 3, 4, and 5

What is SRA?
This program teaches phonics
(sounds) and reading through a
direct-instruction program.
Students learn and practice
sounds and words by saying,
reading, and writing.

What does it look like?


In groups, students practice:
saying and recognizing sounds
reading words and sounds
writing sounds, words, and
sentences

Program Levels
Reading Mastery (K-3)
Level 1, part A and B
Level 2, part A and B
Corrective Reading (3-5)
Level A
Level B1
Level B2
Level C

Why use SRA?


Reading levels go up!
Reading Mastery prepares students to
read text up to a second grade level.
Corrective Reading:
At the end of Level A, students will be
reading on a 2nd grade level.
At the end of Level B, students will be
reading on a 4th grade level.
At the end of Level C, students will be
reading on a 7th grade level.

Survey Opportunity
At the end of the year, you
will have a survey to
complete about how you feel
about your childs reading
program and success this
school year.

Data Collection
We must collect and submit data to the
state about the program implementation.
Data will include:
How many lessons were taught
If students were absent or present for
lessons
Student EOG and Reading 3D scores
Parent Survey results

What is Reading 3D?


An assessment program that gives
your child a reading level letter as
seen on report cards.
Benchmark Assessments are done 3
times a year.
Progress Monitoring Assessments
will occur every 2 weeks.

What do the reading levels mean?


The reading
level your child
is on matches
the leveled
reading books
sent home each
night.

Read every night!
Help with homework: Read every night,
and review Sight Word lists!
