I am writing in response to the advertisement for the position of accountant with your
company dated on 12 October 2015 in Jobstreet.com
I am a graduate from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Johor with a bachelors degree in
Accountancy. Some of the courses I took such as Financial Accounting, Management
Accounting and Financial Market have given me a strong background in my field of
study. To fulfill my degree requirement I have taken several elective courses such as
Accounting Information System and Business Management which mainly focused on
improving the students soft skills. During my academic years at the university, I also
learnt several languages such as Arabic and Mandarin to equip myself with the
necessary communication skills.
I underwent a 6-month industrial training programme at MNZWAJ Associate Sdn Bhd in
Shah Alam. During the training programme, I was able to apply my theoretical
knowledge that I have gained all these years to a practical situation. As an intern, I was
responsible for compiling and maintaining the records of business transaction and
office activities. On top of that, I also learnt how to audit, reconcile and conduct
analysis of the records that have been prepared. The responsibilities I shouldered have
honed my skills in the accounting field, and developed a network of associate in the
accountancy field. In addition, my position as the Treasurer of the Members of Diploma
In Accountancy have enabled me to be an enthusiastic team member as well as
acquiring strong leadership qualities. Hence I do believe that I have the skills, traits and
experience you are looking for.
