Sir/ Ma’am,

The Algoma University-Brampton Campus has already deemed me worthy of a place in their Post
graduate certificate course in Human Resources Management program for winter intake 2023, and now
I seek support from the Government of Canada to grant me a study permit to pursue the same. The
program is scheduled to commence on January 9th 2023, and will continue for the duration of 1 academic
year – 2 semesters.

About Me

I reside in Sirsa, Haryana with my family. My father, Sh.Sukhmander Singh, is a Government employee
working in Police service. My mother, Swaranjeet Kaur, is a housewife. My sister, Ramandeep Kaur, is a
student pursuing his post graduate studies.

My Academic Background

 After completing my matriculation in 2016 from CBSE affiliated school with 10 CGPA, I went on to
complete my Intermediate in Humanities in 2018 with 82.6 % (Marks). After this, I graduated with
Bachelor of Arts with 1st Division from Post Graduate Govt. College, affiliated to Punjab University,
Chandigarh in June 2021.
 During that time India was suffering from unendurable COVID 19 pandemic and lockdown
restrictions.
 Due to the pandemic implications, I was inhibited to switch for my post graduate education. So,
eventually in October 2021, when the things went cushy and favorable, to linguistic proficiency, I had
appeared in IELTS exam and secured overall score of 7 (R-8.0, L-7.0, S-6.5, W-6.0), it also delayed
as frequent dates were not available.
 In March 2022, I embark upon my plan to go for Canadian higher education as anticipated and
Forthwith I applied study visa application at Seneca College for Social Sector Management program
for Sep’2022 fall intake in Canada. After 3 months of time consideration, on June 8th 2022, I got
refusal for my study visa application on the ground as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of IRPR.
 Now as per the guidance of my engaged RCIC, I have revised my proposed academic program and
my financial also and reapplying my application.
Reasons for Pursuing Human Resources Management-Post Graduate Certificate Program:

 In the program, I will take a series of carefully selected Human Resources courses that will build and
enhance my skills in critical areas of management such as in accounting for non-financial managers;
financial decision making; managerial economics; business ethics and corporate, social,
responsibility; organizational behavior and human resources management; managerial
communications; marketing strategy; data analysis using Excel; business strategy; new venture
creation; negotiation and leadership; and legal aspects of business.
 There will always be a need for individuals who can provide accurate and timely financial
information to managers , investors and creditors . Management is not restricted to any specific
industry , management level or country . All organizations have human resources , financial
information processing and reporting needs . The professionals who work in this field usually have a
deep knowledge of business .
 In order to understand more about the course , I have carried out a range of researches online which
helped me realize that the course is carefully prepared to mold any aspiring student into an ardent
Human Resource management professional . The curriculum of the course is designed in such a way
that it offers the aspirants with impeccable insights to various managerial subjects.
 This course will focus more on working with and through people than on the technical aspects of
Human Resources Management.
 Human Resources Management is about developing big-picture strategies and understandings and
especially the knowledge necessary to lead and motivate people.
 I have been always fascinated towards the corporate sector and the way all the departments of a
company operates , Board meetings , Marketing plans , Financial Reports , Strategies and the process
of decision making in the board meetings . All these activities if executed perfectly bring desired
financial results for a company . I have always wanted to take up higher education which would equip
me with the tools to enter a board room of a giant company , so I am taking baby steps towards my
goal .
 To streamline my propensity in every aspect of peak level management more , Human Resources
Management is what allured my take up a graduate certificate in business management and human
resource management . I believe that the only thing which has no end is Knowledge . With the same
thing in my mind , I want to enhance my knowledge of the business world by getting enrolled into the
Graduate Certificate ( Human Resources & Business Management ) at Algoma University .
 Through this statement of purpose , I wish to achieve my aims that have motivated me towards this
direction . Graduate Certificate course is to build skills in every organization or gain skills to
transition to a new field . A graduate certificate program may be less expensive than a master
program , which can be appealing to those who already have a number of financial responsibilities .
With increasing competition , applicants with international qualifications and experience are given
more priority for employment . Thus , I started looking for a course that would be beneficial for my
future . As I am working as manager to improve my business or professional skills , I have already
imagined my professional life . Certainly , the purpose of my life is to get the best understanding &
knowledge in the business field . In my view , acquiring knowledge of business will not only be
extremely useful , but also personally rewarding and enjoyable .
 It is a fascinating area of study that I will certainly be able to apply to my future work . Every

Financial Plan and Sponsorship

The entire array of expenses to be potentially incurred in Canada on studies and incidentals like traveling,
staying, etc. shall be borne by my parents. They are financially well-off and have sufficient funds at
exposure to defray all costs. I have already paid tuition fees for the complete course amounting to $21,514
and have arranged for the living cost by securing GIC of $10,050 during my study duration.

Future Roadmap

Post-completion of the Human Resources Management program at the Algoma University, I will
putinto action the following measures:

 I will go back to India for good. I have been raised in a family that believes that we should utilize our
skills for the benefit of our country. Motivated by this thought-process, my parents installed in me a
solid value system that has guided me towards going abroad for higher studies. As a result, I am
indebted for giving me the resources to fulfill my study aspirations.
 On completing this advanced program in human resource management from the Algoma University, I
will return to my homeland and tap the lucrative opportunities at leading MNCS. Companies in the IT
and manufacturing sector, such as IBM, Cognizant, TCS, Tata Motors, and Accenture are on the
lookout for accomplished professionals to fulfill their HR requirements.
 As a skilled and certified professional, I would get an edge over my peers.
 Recruiters in India as well as in other countries significantly value degrees that HR professionals

Ever since I was a school student, I used to dream of having my own company. The thought of running
a business used to excite me a lot. As my intellect matured, I realised that there are so many facets in
