The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a professionally managed, non-profit organization working to improve the quality
of education in Pakistan. TCF has 910 purpose-built school units nationwide in urban slums and rural areas with an
enrollment of 126,000 students.
TCFs vision is to remove barriers of class and privilege to make citizens of Pakistan agents of positive change.

What is Career Counseling and What is the Role of a Counselor?

TCFs Career Counseling Program is designed for TCF students who would be appearing for the Matriculation
examinations in 2014. With the use of a pre-designed personality test and other self appraisal exercises, the
counselors would help discover and highlight the aptitude of the concerned young adult. Through this process of
derivation, the counselor can increase each individuals self awareness and map future career opportunities for them.
This would enable the young adult to become focused and work towards realistic and achievable goals.

Who Can Become a Counselor?

A Counselor is a volunteer, 23 years of age and above, whos listening, interpersonal and communication skills sets
him/her apart from others to coach young adults. A training and orientation session will be conducted for all
volunteers. A prior background in counseling is not required.

What will be the Time Commitments for Career Counseling?

This is a day long volunteering activity that will take place in Karachi. Prior to this date, all volunteers must attend
an orientation and training session. Registration for the activity begins in November 2013 and the actual event takes
place on one Saturday between January-February 2014.
