User Guide
Requirements for Acrobat Reader Software
You need Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 (with full-text search patch) or 7.0 to read the
electronic documentation. Otherwise, full-text search may not function properly.
This CD-ROM contains an Acrobat Reader 5.0 which will function automatically when
you click With CD-ROM Reader button on the start screen. This CD-ROM also
provides an Acrobat Reader 7.0 installation program for your choice.

Displaying the Start Screen


Insert the CD-ROM into the CD drive, a start screen may be displayed automatically.
If not, you can execute the Start.exe to display the start screen. The Start.exe resides
in the CD-ROM's root directory.
On the start screen, there are the following six buttons:

Opening a Manual
Note: Among all the following Acrobat Reader versions, we recommend the use of
CD-ROM built-in Acrobat Reader 5.0 (available without installation) due to its
already integrated full-text search function.

Browsing a Manual
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or 7.0 provides some convenient ways to read a
manual:

Bookmark: On the left side of the screen, click the bookmark to open
the file you want to view. The "+" on the left of the bookmark means
sub items are contained under this bookmark. Click the "+" to unfold
the sub bookmarks; click the Return button to return to the main
category file; click the Show/Hide Navigation Pane on the toolbar to
close the bookmark window.
Interlinkage: When the mouse is placed on a title or button, it will
become a finger-pointing cursor. Click the title or button, and you are
linked to the relative content.
Thumbnail: It guides the browse on PDF files.
Zoom: Select the Zoom In Tool icon on the top toolbar. Then click the
content you want to view until the text is large enough.

Searching for a Topic


Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or 7.0 provides two search functions: search in
current document(the Find operation), or search in a group of manuals (the
Full Text Search operation).

Find: Select Edit/Find... menu, then input search words and click Find
button. The first result will be highlighted. Click Find button again, the
next result will be highlighted.
Full Text Search: Select the Full Text Search button on the bottom of
the homepage, then input search words and click the Search button. A
result list will be displayed.

Note: If Full Text Search is not supported, you need to install the full text
search patch or Acrobat Reader 7.0.
