3.4 Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process
standards to develop and use strategies and methods for whole number
computations in order to solve problems with efficiency and accuracy. The
student is expected to:
C. determine the value of a collection of coins and bills
Students will use coins and bills to represent monetary amounts. They will
need to demonstration a set amount using the least amount of coins and the
greatest amount of coins.
The student will be given 4 different monetary amounts. Each amount is to
be correctly represented using A) The least amount of coins/bills necessary,
and B) The most amount of coins/bills possible, from the monetary currency
supplied. The student will then add the 4 amounts together using correct
alignment and addition skills.
