Lesson Plan in Mathematics 1

Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of whole numbers up to 100, ordinal numbers
up to 10th, money up to PhP100 and fractions ½ and 1/4.
Performance Standards:
The learner will be able to recognize, represent, and order money up to 100 in various
forms and contexts.
Learning Competency and Code:
The learner recognizes and compares coins and bills up to PhP100 and their
notation. M1NS-Ij-19.1

Quarter: I Week: 10 Lesson: 46

I. Objectives:
At the end of 50 minutes, 100% of the learners are expected to:
1. Tell the value of a given set of Philippine centavo coins.
2. Write and count the coins correctly.
3. Show ways of being thrifty.

II. Content:
Subject Matter: Expressing money as centavos through 1 Peso.
Integration: MTB-MLE, ESP
(Learning Area): The learner will be able to match words with pictures and objects.

III. Learning Tasks


A. Drill
Identify the amount of the following
(The teacher shows play and real centavo coins)

B. Review
The learner will count 1-100 in chorus using a Number Chart.

C. Motivation
The teacher will present a picture showing a child depositing or saving money in a
coin/piggy bank. (Infuse values)

D. Presentation
Centavo coins play money will be distributed to the learners and identify the different
pictures that can be seen in each side of each centavo coins:

E. Discussion
The teacher will discuss the following to the learners:
The two phases of a Philippine Coin.
What sign do we use for centavos?
What sign do we use for pesos?
Can we express pesos and centavos together? How?
Identify the amount of money when centavo coins will be added.
How many ₵5, ₵10, ₵25 are there in ₱1.00.

F. Application
The learners will be grouped into 3. They will be given different centavo coins and
will be asked the following questions and let the learners present their output as a
Group
Group 1: How many ₵5 in ₱1.00
Group 2: How many ₵10 in ₱1.00
Group 3: How many ₵25 in ₱1.00
G. Enrichment
The teacher will present different set of Mixed Combinations of Centavo Coins that
are equal to ₱1.00.
This will be done together with the learners using Brainstorming Strategy.
