I. Objectives
A. Content Standards
The learner is able to apply knowledge of area, volume and temperature in mathematical
problems and real-life situation.
C. Learning Competencies
Reads and measure temperature using thermometer (alcohol and/or digital) in degree Celsius.
D. At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
- Photo cube, thermometer, activity sheets, improvised thermometer, a glass of hot water, ice,
coffee, ice cream
III. Procedure
1. Prayer
2. Energizer
3. Greetings
4. Attendance
B. Review
“Let’s recall our past lesson”
“We have learned about solving routine and non- “Yes, Teacher!”
routine problems involving volume of a cube and
rectangular, right?”
“Yes, Teacher! V = s3”
“Can you remember the formula in finding the
volume of a cube?”
“V = l x w x h”
“How about the formula in finding the volume of a
rectangular prism?”
“Are you going to touch the boiling water? Why?” “Ice cream”

Picture 3 “Coffee”
“Ariel/Michael/James/Nica/Mia”
Picture 4
“Temperature”
All of these objects that are in the Photo cube are
either hot or cold. It makes me think of a word that
describes or measures the hotness or coldness of “Yes, a thermometer”
an object. Are you familiar with this word?”
(Shows a thermometer.)
This is a thermometer.
Activity
Remember the objects we found on the Photo
cube? I have them here. We are going to measure
the temperature of these objects.
E. Application
“Yes teacher”
Let’s have another activity. I’ll be giving each group
an improvised thermometer. This is what you’re
going to do. I will give you a problem and you need
to get the temperature and show your answer
using your improvised thermometer. Whoever gets
the answer first, will be the one to receive a point.
Is that clear class?
Then, how can we measure temperature? The commonly used unit to measure temperature is
degree Celsius.
Correct!
That’s right!
IV. Evaluation
V. Assignment
In each number, draw a thermometer and show where the temperatures’ measure is. Put it a bond paper.
