o We are going back to the farm today! Just like weve been doing, I will say a word while clapping the parts first, and then everyone will repeat after me. You have to listen closely to how many times I clap to know how many parts there are to that word. You can either clap or put your hand below your chin and count how many times your chin hits your hand. The first word is outside (clap twice). Now, everyone try it with me, outside. o Continue with the rest of the words (outside, haystack, rooster, following, horse, and yellow). After each word, choose a student to come and find an example of the word on the poster. Turn to Chart 5 o Introduce the letter Ff o Now that weve learned about a new letter, lets practice the ones we know so far. Follow my pointer! If I hear the wrong letter we have to start the row over. o Go through the chart, pointing to each letter as the students say it in unison. Bring out alphabet cards o Start at the beginning of the alphabet and go through every letter practicing the letter sounds and hand motions as a whole group. o I want to see everyone saying the letter and its sound while doing the hand motions. Aa apple, a a a.
