Instructional

Rounds @Austral P S

Dear Colleagues,
Our next Instructional Rounds Day will be held on Thursday, 19th November at Austral Public School.
The Problem of Practice (POP) is:
How are students individual needs being catered for through differentiation at Austral PS?
For the professional learning session in the morning, each school team will be split into small mixed
teams to research and prepare a short presentation, 2 to 4 slides or some other form of
presentation flow chart, power point etc (10 minutes maximum) related to the groups
understanding of the problem of practice.
It would be beneficial to have your team discuss the POP prior to the event as it relates to your
school context. Consider the research and how the POP connects with the Australian Professional
Standards for Teachers, ie which Standard descriptor/s.
The mixed presentations will provide a platform for the Community of Schools Instructional Rounds
Team to debate and discuss what the POP looks like and sounds like prior to observing in the Austral
classrooms.
What is the teacher saying and doing? What are the students saying and doing? What is the task?
Please also bring a digital or print copy of the Standards (My Standards APP) and AITSLs Classroom
Practice Continuum.
If you could please let me know the names of the participants that are attending so the groups can
be split evenly across our rounds classrooms.
Kind Regards,
Jan Rogers
