From the desk of the director

The month of October is past but oh, was it a busy one! Residents of Staples
Motley had so many events to attend. There are such wonderful people in our
communities that keep our days and nights filled and make it a great area to live.
Thank you to all who give back to the residents and businesses of the area.
As the busy holiday season is upon us, we are excited for everything that our
community has to offer. Please shop locally as much as possible and help to
strengthen our businesses.
For more information on upcoming events, contact the Chamber of Commerce

Treats on the Street
Treats on the Street was held in Staples and Motley with
many businesses participating in the tricks or treats for kids.
As I was out in the community, I was amazed at the number
of children that were out and about with their parents and
grown up guardians. Everything was so organized, the
businesses seemed to be happy to have the kids come in and
it was a great experience for me to coordinate.
Let me say thank you to all of the businesses in both Motley
and Staples for what you do for kids.

Sip & Savor Social Wine & Beer Tasting

Friday, October 30 the first Sip & Savor Social Beer &
Wine Tasting event was held. The event was at the Staples
Community Center. This event was a new experience for me
and I thank the planning committee, sponsors, Chamber
Board for all of the help they provided in making this event a
success.
th

The 12 vendors that were there to showcase their products,

5 sponsors, and about 55 people attended a fun event with
lots of great food and samples of their favorite beer and
wine. Great ideas for products to help enhance their holiday
celebrations were gotten.
The beautiful fall decorations were provided by Marlene
Reecks 1105 Market. Thank you Marlene for sharing your
amazing talent.
Joann Schornack was instrumental in lining up the vendors
and they provide a lot of choices for the events attendees.
The hors d oeuvres were sponsored by Jons Family Foods,
Ernies Food Market, Moreys Seafood Int. LLC, Twisted
Sisters, and the Staples Motley Chamber of Commerce.
Thank you all for sponsoring this event.
