Focusing their efforts
In order to maximize the use of resources, WWF is streaming its efforts on the 13 Global Initiatives. These are visionary, large-scale efforts that can have the potential for the widest positive impacts.
Taking advantage of their expertise
WWF's operations are powered by the dedicated people in their programmes which require specialized expertise including leading conservation scientists, policy experts, economists, lawyers, and communications experts. By doing so, WWF also promises to: 1. Utilize the best available scientific information to address issues and critically evaluate all projects 2. Communicate effectively through dialogue while avoiding unnecessary confrontation. 3. Form concrete conservation solutions through a combination of field-based projects, policy initiatives, capacity building, and education work. 4. Involve local communities and indigenous peoples in the planning and execution of field projects, respecting both cultural and economic needs.
Forging strong partnerships
WWF understand that it cannot achieve its goals alone. Hence, they form strong partnerships with businesses, governments, finance institutions, local communities, academia and other NGOs in order to drive change at the scale needed and to enhance their effectiveness. WWFs main partners include, other conservation NGOs, businesses & industries, public sector finance institutions, local & national governments, international conventions & commissions, development groups, research institutes, investment banks, farmers, fishers, foresters, indigenous peoples, local communities, protected area managers, landowners and consumers.
