The class performed well on the unit test overall, scoring between 75-100% correct. Students showed a strong understanding of details and vocabulary, but struggled most with main idea, purpose, theme, summarization, text features, and point of view. To help improve these weaker areas, the teacher will reteach those skills and have the two top students practice them through an activity where they read articles and discuss them using a tic-tac-toe board.

From this unit test, the class as a whole performed well considering the scores
ranging from 75-100% of questions answered correctly. The students appeared to
have mastered skills involving details and vocabulary based off of the low amount of missed questions on these topics. It would be wise to help students review their skills on main idea, purpose, and story elements. In class, I will need to reteach theme, summarization, text features, and point of view considering majority of the class missed questions on these topics. Because there are 2 students in my class who have mastered each of these skills, I will have them pick their choice of Time for Kids articles to read and elaborate on with each other using a tic-tac-toe activity that allows them extra practice with this units skills.
