1.A.1: a-f
Individuals that have a more favorable phenotype are more likely to live and
reproduce. Competition for limited resources results in differential survival.
Reproductive success measures by evolutionary fitness.
Genetic Variation and mutation plays a role in natural selection. Diverse gene pool
is important for the survival of a species.
Evolutionary rate and direction is affected by environments that are more or less
stable or fluctuating. Different genetic variations can be selected in each
generation.
Adaptation is a genetic variation that is favored by selection and is manifested as
a trait that provides an advantage to an organism.

1.A.2: b

Phenotypic variations are not directed by the environment

Phenotypic variations occur through random changes in DNA
Phenotypic variations also occur through new gene combinations

1.A.3: a, b

In small populations, the nonselective processes called genetic drift occurs

Differences of the Population of the same species is increased by the
reduction of genetic variation

1.C.1: a

adaptive radiation occurs when new habitats become available

When adaptive radiation occurs then speciation rates can vary

4.C.2: b
An organisms adaptation to the local environment reflects a flexible response of
its genome.
Darker fur in cooler regions of the body in certain mammal species
Alterations in timing of flowering due to climate changes
