Perfection
Objectives

Students will create a poster advertising an object chosen by the student


Students will be able to understand elements and principles used in advertising
Students will be able to visually transform an object in order to make it perfect
Vocabulary

Advertisement: is a form of marketing communication used to encourage, persuade,


or manipulate an audience
Perfect: Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as
good as it is possible to be
Imperfect: Not perfect; faulty or incomplete
Manipulation: To control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially
to one's own advantage
Questions to Consider:

What is an ad? What is it trying to do?


What are an advertisements visual elements?
What is included and how is it used? Color, scale, words etc...
Show how advertising is manipulated to show us perfection
Ask how it is useful or helpful to us
Do we want it. Why?
Where are they put? Where do we see them. (ads)
Making something imperfect perfect or vice versa
Make an advertisement which shows how we can manipulate these objects
What are the elements and principles used in ads- words, colors, pictures? Scale and
etc.
