Wish Clauses
1).We use wish +S+ past simple to express that we want a situation in the present (or future) to

be different.
I wish I spoke Italian.
I don't speak Italian.
I wish it was the weekend tomorrow. (future)
It's only Thursday tomorrow.
2).We use wish +S+ past perfect to express a regret, or that we want a situation in the past to be
different.
I wish I hadn't eaten so much.
I ate a lot.
3).We use wish +S+ would + bare infinitive to express impatience, annoyance or dissatisfaction
with a present action.
I wish you would stop smoking.
You are smoking at the moment and it is annoying me.

If Conditionals
Type 1:Future/present +If+Present
I'll stay at home IF it rains tomorrow.

Type 2:Present conditional +If+Past tense /Subjonctive


I would travel around the world and buy a castle in Norway IF I won the lottery.

Type 3: Past Conditional+If+Past perfect/Subjonctive


My teacher wouldn't have shouted at me IF I would done my homework.
