I would like to apply for the Information Assurance Specialist position you advertised
through jobsearch.asme.org. My masters studies in information assurance and degree
in management information systems at the University of New Mexico would allow me
to be a valuable and local addition to the company.
My studies at UNM directly relate to the position being offered. During my studies
through the Anderson School of Business, I have worked in partnership with Sandia
National Laboratories on many occasions. I have excelled through my specific work
with preventative system security and post system attacks. I obtained a cumulative
GPA of 3.7 in my Undergraduate studies and a cumulative GPA of 3.9 in my Masters
studies. Attached to this document, you will find recommendation letters from
professors, some of whom have worked with the Company. My previous involvement
with the company has sparked many professional relationships and has shown to be a
fitting work environment for myself.
My previous work experience includes two years of retail experience with Best Buy
Co, Inc, and 3 years of teaching assistant work through the management information
system department at the University of New Mexico. Through my experience within
retail, I have developed excellent personal communication skills and the ability to
work in high-stress environments. My desire to teach and learn about new
technologies, especially those related to information assurance was fostered through
my time as a TA. I believe that my strong background in teaching technology systems
will greatly benefit the company.
