Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Dean Stevens and I am a Social Studies and Outdoor Education teacher at Notre Dame High School
in Red Deer, Alberta. It is my pleasure to write a letter of reference for Brady Steeves, who is a young man I
have had the opportunity to teach.
Brady has shown a fantastic work ethic when it comes to his studies and his course work. In Outdoor Education
Brady proved to be an incredibly hard working and efficient student. His knowledge and effort in this course
were second to none, and the rest of the class very much looked to him as a leader. He exhibited significantly
advanced problem solving skills, as there were many times he was able to overcome obstacles in the bush that
other students couldn't solve. As the leader of one group, he managed to construct a perfectly functional quinzee
(snow shelter), with no shovels, in under one hour. This was the first and only time I have seen this task
completed successfully in all of the time I have taught this course, let alone in that little time.
Brady is also a young man with a tremendously positive attitude. He completes all tasks with zeal and
enthusiasm, and is easily able to do things with little supervision. He is one of those people who shows
extraordinary initiative in everything he does, and he always wants to do a very good job. Brady has also proven
to be a person who is very quick to understand instructions, and in my experience I never had to explain
anything to him more than once.
Although Brady is not one to talk a great deal, he leads others by example, and is a fantastic contributor to any
type of group activity. I can remember times when we would do things in groups and everyone was scrambling
to try to get Brady in their group. This says a great deal about Brady's personality, as well as his ability to
successfully complete any task given to him.
As I mentioned previously, I feel honoured to write a reference for Brady Steeves. He is an exceptional person
and one who has enormous potential in anything that he chooses to do .
