Crystal dozier-fairchild learned a valuable lesson about efficiency and professionalism. From this moment forward, I will contact Duffy and Semia every day. This week I really need to get feedback and determine when I will have an approved schedule.

For week of September 7, 2015 Week 2 I learned a lot this week and I didnt even work in the internship placement. Last week, the site supervisor (Semia) and I scheduled to meet on Friday September 11, 2015 at 6:30pm. At this specified time and date we were to develop a schedule and review learning contract. Unfortunately, when I arrived no one was there and the security guard at the front desk informed me everyone left for the evening. I immediately was overcome with confusion but began to think clearly as I made it to my vehicle. I called the office and left a message, then I contacted Semia directly. She was under the assumption that because I did not send a confirmation email for the appointment we agreed upon for Friday that the agreed date and time was null. Even though I did not I understand, I promptly apologized for not touching base with her and asked if she was willing to meet before Monday to sign the contract. Semia agreed for me to email the contract and she would review and sign it. I learned a valuable lesson about efficiency and professionalism this week. From this moment forward, I will contact Duffy and Semia every day. This week I really need to get feedback and determine when I will have an approved schedule. I am currently reading a book on kindle entitled True Professionalism. The courage to care about your people, your clients, and your career, written by David Meister. He explains professionalism is more of an attitude than it is a competency. Therefore, I am working on creating a balance between the internship, my abilities, and my attitude.
