STRENGTHS
Pakistan is almost joining the ranks of top
sugar exporters in world.
Sugar Output to Increase by 18%.
Farmers Shifting from Cotton to Sugar
Production.
Good monsoon rains have increased
yields of Sugar.

Pakistan is considered to be

a small grower as
compared to Brazil's expected crop of 23 million tons
in the current harvest

High Prices of Fertilizers & Power

The prices of fertilizers are too high and there is a


problem of water and power supply.

Water Shortage
Due to scarcity of canal water major source of
water is tube well. Drastic changes have been
observed in soil composition because brackish
water of tube well is not good for cultivation/soil.
Sugarcane would remain shorter and thin due to
the scarcity of water.

investing in R&D and planning

to reduce wastages
Export potential of sugar/molasses
