different living organisms.

a. Determine the sequence of the life cycle of common animals in your area: a mammal such as a cat or dog or
classroom pet, a bird such as a chicken, an amphibian such as a frog, and an insect such as a butterfly.

Brief Description of Learning Experience: I will use this video to intro duce the idea of the life
cycle on my interactive white board. We will then refer to the information in our textbooks about life
cycles, read and discussion our findings for the remainder of the period. The following day, the
students will decide what animal theyd like to research and then draw out the life cycle they chose.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: The LoTi level of this usage of my video is only a
level 1, awareness and mostly used by instructor. On the contrary, I believe the students will be very
engaged because the video uses a song rather than a voice over of someone talking. The song will
definitely grab and retain their attention. This could easily be a level 4 for the older age groups. The
students could create a video themselves and be creative with their approach in explaining their own
view to their class. This would put the student in control of both the technology and the education.
Importance of technology: For this age group and project, the technology isnt necessary. However,
this use of video maker could be a very nice project for older students. They would definitely
understand the technology better and could create their own videos to supplement education.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: The students in this age group will only be allowed to use the internet
for pictures and other research on their animal. I will be sure that there is a safe search lock on the search engine we use
as well as me constantly walking around to monitor each screen to be sure everyone is on topic.
