Rhino Weekly Newsletter to Parents

Week 4,
Friday 25th September

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a fantastic week we have had in Year 4! Swimming and PE classes are going
well, with the children really enthusiastic to go each week. We had a couple of
children forget their swimming kit, so please make sure to remind them. In
Maths this week, we have continued our exploration of place value and have been
using place value to learn the written column method for addition. In Literacy
we have been reading Wolves by Emily Gravett. The children did fantastic
creative writing making up an alternative ending to this story. Reading
Volunteers also started back this week, with the children very excited to see
their friends and continue reading with them..
PE

Your child has PE on Tuesday every week.

Your child should wear their outdoor PE kit to school on
this day (even if it is raining).

Uniform

Swimming

Please make sure your child is wearing full school uniform

and not a cardigan or jacket from home. Children must
have their shirts tucked in so everyone looks smart
Swimming is on Wednesday mornings. Please make sure
your child has a swimming kit at school on Wednesday,
including goggles, a towel and swim wear. Your child needs
to be able to change from their school uniform into their
swimming outfit independently and look after their own
belongings.

Please feel free to speak to me about anything; I am available every afternoon

to talk about any concerns or queries you may have.
Kind regards,

Erin Mealey

Homework
Homework will be handed out every Friday and needs to be returned by
Wednesday morning.
