Friday 11th December 2015

Dar Parents and Carers,
What a big week it has been for Year 4! We have been very busy continuing our literacy book of
Pebble in my Pocket now publishing diary entries to reflect the journey of the historical pebble.
The Students have been so imaginative and trying so hard to use scientific vocabulary. As well
as Literacy and Maths we have been exploring electricity, understanding simple circuits and
conductors.
There has been a few rehearsals this week for our Cinderella School Play next week! The
performance will be held on

WEDNESDAY 16th DECEMBER. We are holding two

sessions parents are more than encouraged to attend 2:30pm or 6:30pm (students are to be
here no later than 6pm). It will be a fantastic performance with everyone singing and a few
students uincluding Theo, Eve, Sajid and Abida picked for acting roles! We are all so excited to
see you there!
Just a friendly reminder that the Childrens Christmas Party will be held on THURSDAY 17TH
DECEMBER from 1:00PM-3:30PM. It would be fantastic if you could sign up to bring some party
food or drink to help us celebrate with the children the end of 2015 in a fun way! I have a list of
our class name, please see me to let me know what you are able to bring

Please make sure your child is reading for at least 15 minutes every day.
Please continue to fill in or sign your childs reading record as this is an
important part of the school monitoring how much each child is reading.
Everyone should be practicing their times table targets (8 Times Tables
were the focus this week). Please ask a parent or sibling to test you on
these (in a mixed order). Once you have learnt all the facts off by heart,
bring them in singed. Here is a link to some online times tables games that
can help you practice: http://resources.woodlandsjunior.kent.sch.uk/maths/timestable/interactive.htm
Make up funny rhymes that can help you remember your times tables. For
example: Six asked eight for a date, 6 x 8 = 48!
Look up these words up using a dictionary write the meaning (and practice
spelling them, theyre tricky!) If you dont have a dictionary try an online
