Inspiring Each Student for Success Today and Greatness Tomorrow
To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing on behave of Courtney Knauer as I served as her cooperating teacher during her student teaching assignment the Fall 2015 semester. Courtney completed sixteen weeks of student teaching in second grade under my supervision. I am pleased to be able to write a letter of recommendation for Courtney. During Courtney's student teaching experience, she was highly motivated to learn as much as she could and perform to her best capacities. She frequently put in long hours to develop lesson plans and monitor student progress. She asked for feedback on a daily basis and accepted constructive criticism with maturity. She understood her limitations as an inexperienced teacher and observed experienced teachers closely in order to improve her own teaching abilities. She completely embodied what it means to be a teacher. She was present a several school wide events, contributed to curriculum implementation and stepped in to assist other teachers on our team with grading and planning. Courtney has several strengths but her main strength, from my observations, is her ability to motivate students and adapt lessons as necessary. She always seemed sincerely interested in student progress and presented new material in a way that captured their attention. She was quick to learn that the best way to manage a classroom is to keep students on-task with projects that were both interesting and challenging. She also did a good job of recognizing when a student needed special assistance or attention. Courtney displayed the qualities that make a teacher successful. She is dependable, motivated, and is in tune with the needs of her students. She works well with colleagues and administration and is able to learn from those around her. She would make an amazing addition to any faculty. I highly recommend her for a teaching position. Sincerely, Shawna Smith-Wentzel
