Pilgrims Prayer to San Pedro Bautista

O blessed San Pedro Bautista, valiant soldier of Christ,

apostle of the faith, martyr of Jesus Christ, we admire the
extraordinary virtues with which God has endowed you,
making you from childhood a paragon of all virtues. We
admire your desire for sanctity which inspired you to
despite the pleasures of the world in order to embrace
the religious life. We admire your ardent charity which led
you to abandon your country to preach the Gospel to the
Gentiles. We admire your burning zeal which
strengthened you to endure all kinds of hardships to
convert the pagans to the true faith. We admire your
strength and constancy in proclaiming the doctrine of
Jesus Christ, choosing death on a cross rather to deny our
Lord.
Remember how happy you were when in the solitude of
this place you were enraptured many times in heavenly
contemplation. O glorious martyr of Christ, as we make
our pilgrimage in this church which you sanctified by your
presence during your mortal life, help us to deepen the
same faith you brought to our forefathers who have
prayed in this church first built by you. Make us an
instrument of Gods love and mercy especially to those
who are in need. We promise to proclaim your glories and
imitate your virtues that we may become worthy of
sharing with you the eternal bliss of heaven. Amen.
