Sun Valley Community Profile
Barangay Sun Valley is composed of 14 subdivisions or villages, namely Annex 41 and Annex
45 Subdivision, Countryside Villa Phases 1 to 5, Executive Heights Subdivision, Happy Glen
Loop, Lions Park, Marimar Village 1 & 2, Manville Subdivision, Montevilla Subdivision, Sun
Valley Subdivision, Parkview Homes Subdivision, Ramos Compound, Road 32, St. Louis
Compound and Sta. Ana Village. The batam gay also contains 16 depressed areas namely
Brotherhood Compound, Sta. Nio de Cul de Sac, Cul de Sac Rotonda, Cherry East Block 1 to
5, Purok Manggahan, Purok Camachile, Lower Sta. Ana Zone 1 to 6, Sapang Maligaya, Purok
Katorse, Riverside, Villa Paraiso, Sitio Bagong Pag-Asa, Bukid Area, and Camachile. The two
main subdivisions are Villa 1 and 2, and Sta. Ana - Area 1 to 6.
The land areas of the following areas:
Riverside - 6 hectares
Camachile - 8 hectares
Villa 1
75% are made of concrete. These houses have a land title.
Riverside
25% are made of semi-concrete.
Bukid Area
25% are made of concrete.
Sta. Ana
25% are made of concrete.
Population
Villa 1 and 2 house 624 families, Villa 1 holding 324 families and Villa 2 holding 300
families. The Riverside houses 300 families as well. Camachile holds 450 families, having the
largest population. The Bukid Area, meanwhile, holds 350 families. Sta. Ana holds 250
families, with Area 1 holding 130 families and Area 2 holding 120 families.
Age
Young adults fill up the majority of the population making up 50%. Children comprise
of 40%. The seniors fill up the smallest number in the population being only 10%.
Sex Composition
There are more females than males. 60% of the total population are female, while
only 40% are male. 15% of these males and females however are considered as
homosexuals either being gay or lesbian.
Income
75% of the total population are under minimum wage. These people have contractual
jobs, lasting for 5 months only and being unstable. 25% of the population, however, receive
minimum wage. These are regular workers with steady jobs.
Occupation
50% of the working population have occupations being construction workers and
security guards being the most common. 25% of the working population work as drivers or
factory workers. The remaining 25% work as street vendors and maids. Parents of families
provide income for themselves, fathers mostly taking the role of construction and factory
workers while mothers being maids or housekeepers.
Educational Attainment
50% of the total population graduated from high school. However, 25% of the
population graduated only from elementary. The remaining 25% of the population are the
only ones that have graduated from college, being the highest educational attainment.
Most of the schools in the barangay give low tuition fees affordable enough for the
residents to bring up their children to school. Once graduated, the residents in the barangay
help each other to advance into college.
Skills
The most common skill residents of the barangay have are construction skills, which
50% knows and practice, making the occupation for construction workers common. 25% of
them have service skills. These are the manicurists, massagers, or drivers, earning income
by serving and assisting customers. The remaining 25% of the residents have skills relating
to garments, being able to make clothes and sew. These skills come in relation with the
occupation seen above.

Common Issues and Actions against them
Pollution is a major problem in the area, having trash and waste everywhere
makes it vulnerable to flooding as drainage systems are clogged. The
barangay has devised a system wherein these garbage are collected two
times a week every Wednesday and Saturday to avoid the growing pollution.
Rivers and Canals are also often maintained and cleaned.
Sugal or excessive gambling and Sabong or cock fighting are often illegal
and gives way for improper use of money towards the people. Drug dealers
are also present and the use of drugs are dangerous and illegal. Guards patrol
the area and arrest people who practice these acts, and also often create
police raids as well.

Fiesta
Pass Time
For free time and entertainment, many residents enjoy the Basketball
and Volleyball game and often meetup to play whether young or old.
People also often tambay and meetup others in their respective
houses to bond and chat. Videoke machines are common as a form of
leisure and fun.
25% of the total population are married couples. Some are love-ins
meaning they live with each other but arent married yet.
Courtship is not normalized but 10% still practice it, being the harana
or serenade being common. Others enter into relationships without
proper courtship beforehand.
