The image used for my contents page was of an

ornamental glass mushroom placed on top of a red and
blue light (the same lights used for my cover) which
give the image a bright and colourful glowing effect
especially in contrast to the black background the
image relates to psychedelic mushrooms, popular in
psychedelic culture, which denotes to the idea that the
magazine is the beginning of a trip and a source of
knowledge. The blue circle around the central image
contrasts again with the black background and draws
more attention to it. The word context warps around
the shape of the image in the same aesthetic style as
psychedelic fonts.

Another convention I have used is puffs. I

used an advertisement in a large pink box
with yellow text to contrast with the black
background and place a lot of focus on it
particularly as the scale of both the text and
the box are so large.
I used a pull quote in next to the
feature article coverline to give further
focus and insight into what is said
within the article. The text is layered in
4 colours red, blue, green, white to
create a blurred effect which connotes
to bright colours of psychedelic culture.
The featured text uses the same
style of font as the magazine
masthead (BellBottom Laser) and
also use the same blue colour as the
circle around the context image the
reason for the use of this blue colour
is because it matches well with both
the yellow and pink (I felt using only
the yellow and pink would make the
magazine appear to be too
