COIL POT-- PROJECT 3:

OBJECTIVE: To create a ceramic vessel or form using the coil hand building technique that is a minimum of
_____inches tall or wide. Students should demonstrate knowledge of the following design qualities in their
piece through its construction, coil usage and overall form: pot anatomy, proportion, shape, form, balance,
movement/rhythm, unity and color. Students should demonstrate knowledge of the coiling technique
through their usage within their piece; rolling even coils, correct connection (SSS method), smoothing
interior coils, design coils, stepping/flaring coils in/out to create shape, trimming, finishing and glazing.
