Sistema Scotlands principal vision is to transform lives with music. By growing childrens orchestras in urban priority areas our mission is to transform childrens lives with music, empower communities and grow future orchestras. We are looking for Big Noise Cover Musicians to work as part of a dynamic team delivering a visionary, socially driven childrens orchestra centre in the Raploch community of Stirling or Govanhill community of Glasgow based on the Venezuelan model El Sistema. Cover Musicians enable us to continue our core delivery when Musicians are on leave or are unwell. They also help greatly in the build up to important events when we need extra support to fully prepare the children. Cover Musicians are required to carry out a variety of roles including supporting or leading sessions, supervising children in the break times and setting up and packing away the orchestras. Cover Musicians are offered work as and when required by Sistema Scotland on a selfemployed basis. There is no obligation for Sistema Scotland to offer Cover Musicians work, or for Cover Musicians to accept any work offered to them. Fees are 25 per hour for the first 2 hours and 20 per hour thereafter. HOW TO APPLY If you are interested in applying for the role as Cover Musician, please email your CV and covering letter to hr@sistemascotland.org.uk, along with details of the names and contact details for two professional referees. Cover Musicians are offered work subject to PVG check although having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to working with Sistema Scotland. The selection process (which will include a panel interview, a short audition and a demonstration lesson with a group of children) will be held on 30 March 2016 in Raploch Community Campus.
