Logbook

In drama this week we have again been focusing on our drama pieces which will be
due very soon. This week (week B) we only have 2 drama lessons and they are on
Thursday and Friday, which is rather inconvenient because it means there is less to
write about and also less time to practise our performances. Mr Wood is however back
from dreaded Year 7 camp and so it will be good to get more input and feedback from
him again.
1. This week the activities and exercises that we undertook were mainly warm up
drills and after that we got into our groups in order to start rehearsing our drama
pieces.
2. This week I have been working with Oli, Charles, Lucia and Jackson in my
group. I think that this group works well because we all contribute to the
conversations and we work to get things done. We are also good at setting
things up.
3. The focus for our group this week would most definitely be to get a main and
solid structure to our performance down. I think that we can definitely improve
our work and include more elements of drama in our piece. Our piece is coming
along and is moving forward slowly, however there are some things that can be
cleaned up and rehearsed more.
4. I think that the main goal for our group this week has definitely been to put in
all the effort that we can and really concentrate and focus in class and use the
time wisely and sensibly. I think that one of the goals for this week has also
been to create sensible and appropriate scenes quickly and make them to the
best of our ability so that we can progress into the next stages of our
performance.
5. This week we have been working also on not having our backs to the audience.
When we rehearse we pick a wall and use that as the audience and always take
them into consideration when performing and rehearsing. The audience is a very
important part of practising your performance. I think that our group has done a
good job to recognise and incorporate the audience into our piece.
