Logbook

In drama this week, we only had 2 lessons as per our timetable, which really
holds us back in class and gives us long breaks between classes. I also missed
our Thursday class as I was rowing at Penrith and left at the start of that period.
1. This week we have really been working on our blocking and also our
specific characters and how they should act on stage. We have come up
with the general idea of our staging and we have gone over our scripts a
number of times, and I think that it is definitely coming along. We also
planned on what each character should say and how, when and in what
tone they should say it, and I think that a great example of this is Oli,
because he always experiments with whatever is given to him, and he is
also a great actor.
2. My performance group consists of;
- Mr Smith Oli
- Mrs Smith Kat
- Mr Martin Myself
- Mrs Martin Emily
- Fire Chief Louis
3. I know that this piece is a play of absurdity (theatre of the absurd) and I
think that that says a lot about it, because if you know about the theatre of
the absurd, then you know that his play is most likely not going to make
much sense. I think that if I had to research additional information, it
would be about this play in particular, and see how others act it and how
their characters function and work on set.

4. The aims of our first rehearsal were more likely just to go over the script
and read through it as a cast, and just try to understand how the play
would run. We all sat in a group and highlighted our lines and ran through
it a few times.
5. This week our group has tried to consider time and place into our
rehearsals by thinking of what the blocking could be like, as there are
times when people get up, move around, and come in, and I think that
these all have important effects that could definitely be practised.
