Notes from Lesson 3

Zero Conditional
The zero conditional is very easy to form. All youve got to do is
combine if with the present tense plus another verb in the present
tense (like the examples above).
This conditional is used when the result will always happen
Examples
If you freeze water, it turns into ice. If you eat too much, you get fat.
If I have time, I usually go to the cinema. If we dont have fish, we
always eat chicken.
If they see each other, they always fight. If she cries, they star t to
laugh.

6) First Conditional
The first conditional is similar to the zero conditional. The difference
between them is that whereas the zero conditional combines two
present tense clauses, the first conditional combines the present tense
with a future tense clause (i.e. with the auxiliary verb will).
Examples
If it rains tomorrow, Ill get a lift.
If shes busy, Ill come back
tomorrow.
If I see him, Ill tell him you called.
If its ok with you, well go
together.
If they give me the money, Ill forgive them.
If you spend too
7) Future Simple
Simple Future has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going
to." Although the two forms can sometimes be used interchangeably,
they often express two very different meanings
o will: [will + verb] You will help me. Will you help me?
o be going to:[am/is/are + going to + verb] He is going to help her.
Are you going to go to Europe?
