Congratulations to our Kindergarten and Grade 3 classes on coming

in 1st Place for the Cafeteria Pride Program. They will be celebrating
with a Game Day on Wednesday February 03, 2016. Great Job!!

2016 Astronaut Ellison Onizuka Science Day

On Saturday, January 30, 2016 we were
fortunate to attend the tribute to the 30th
anniversary of the last flight for the space
shuttle, Challenger. It was held at the
University Of Hawai'i in Hilo.
Kona's very own Ellison Onizuka was one of
the seven astronauts killed in the Challenger disaster on
Jan. 28, 1986. Ellison Onizuka was a 1964 graduate of
Konawaena High School and grew up in Kealakekua.
There was also an event held on Sunday, January 31, 2016
at the Ellison Onizuka Museum located at the Kona
International Airport in remembering our beloved
astronaut. Sadly this event will be its last. The Museum
will be closing in March.
