 As the first Executive Director of the Association of owners of country’s
broadcast media (TV channels and FM radio stations), I have the credit of nursing the
Secretariat from nascence to adolescence – both, physically and conceptually, and
laying down a well sculptured plan to realize Association’s various long-term and
short-term objectives
 I was also acknowledged for the fact that within a short span of six months,
the accreditation and collection process for business placed by advertising agencies
was up and running. The system came complete with Rules & Regulation, SOPs and
accreditation procedures for advertising agencies
 Besides, my liaison with PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority)
and Ministry of Information has always been exceptionally smooth and conducive

 Though the Society was functional since 1997, it was most visible during my tenure
 Held various seminars and symposia on pertinent topics like ‘Media Buying Hoses –
Misconceptions and Realities’, ‘Marketing of Financial Products’, and ‘Brand
Building’
 Throughout my stay in the Society, chaired the PAS Code of Advertising Practices
Committee that entertained complaints moved by member advertisers against
competition if they breached PAS Code of Ethics for Advertising
 Successfully initiated the 2nd Establishment & Media Habit Survey conducted in 2004
(published in 2005) which is a currency in advertising and media industry to date
 Initiated the project of establishing a peoplemeter based TV audience measurement
system

 Formulated and structured a consumer promotion scheme for Pakistan State Oil
‘Scratch & Match’ and monitored its two runs with an interval. It included a training
of work-force at PSO outlets across the country. Also assembled and conducted this
training program in all their divisions

 Primarily responsible for Slogan, a magazine dedicated to issues and development of
advertising, besides overseeing other CMC publications – South Asia, Export Review

 Won the assignment of Media Relations & Accreditation for Cricket World Cup 1996
after a demanding competition, involving thorough presentations, discussions of
details, and exhaustive PR
 Won the credit of handling Media exceptionally well as the 1996 World Cup was the
only World Cup to date with not a single negative report with reference to matches,
management, or even the Cricket Board
