My book “In a Cult of their Own: Bollywood Beyond Box Office” was honoured with the
National Award for Best Book on Cinema (Special Mention) at the National Film Awards
Ceremony 2019 by the Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, followed by felicitation
at the Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted by the President of India Mr. Ram Nath Kovind. The book
is about Cult Hindi Films, featuring interviews with Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Deepti

59th Parallel is an image management company. I handled social media


and communication mandates for entertainment clients and Bollywood
celebrities. This included framing content strategies, plans for promoting their
films on social media, on-ground support and event coverage.
Clients handled: Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Anees Bazmee, Dharma 2.0,
Sohum Shah, Bollywood on Facebook, Purple Pebble Pictures.

Led the social media function. Set down social media processes, strategize
content management, engagement and oversee social media deliveries.
Actively engage in pitch processes from a social and strategy stand-point.

• Worked in tandem with the Planning and Creative teams to strategize and
execute major campaigns for clients:
o #LoveUnConditionally (Tata AIA) – An innovative social media
campaign that positioned buying of term insurance policies of Tata
AIA Life Insurance as an act of selfless love. The video was viewed
more than 2 million times and the campaign reached over 10 million
users
o Introducing Dr. Kurien (Amul) – To spread awareness around Dr.
Varghese Kurien, India’s milkman and founder of Amul, a bunch of
bikers set about on a cross country rally from Kozhikode to Anand
mapping his journey. The series became so widely popular that it’s
now an annual ritual at Amul.
o Stories of Rakshakaran (Tata AIA) – The campaign aimed to depict
rituals of “Rakshakaran” (protection) in everyday life. A bunch of
photography influencers were roped in, who crafted visual stories on
Instagram. Reached more than 6 million users and immediately
boosted Instagram following by 160%
• Won pitches with Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Learn with Manish
Malhotra (NIFD), Tata AIA, Tata Nexon and IndianOil.

Worked as a Researcher on Javed Akhtar’s Show “The Golden


Years” on Zee Classic. Contributed film-based trivia for more than 60
films aired on the Zee Classic movie channel.
