Movie Review: A Moment to Remember

Kim Su Jin and Choi Chul Soo play husband and wife in this heart- warming Korean drama. This
movie is about a couple that overcomes the hard knock in their relationship which is, Kim Su Jin, the
wife, being diagnosed with Alzheimers disease. In a nutshell, Alzheimers is a progressive mental
deterioration. It is also the most common cause of premature senility.
I like this movie very much as it is very interesting. The movie showcases a very unique story in
which a young girl who suffers from dementia is loved by her loving husband. The husband does not
abandon her because his love and affection for her is very strong. Other than that, I like this movie
because of a particular actress which is Son Ye-Jin who plays the character of Kim Su Jin. Kim Su Jin is
portrayed wonderfully by well- known actress, Son Ye- Jin. She is truly one of the greatest actresses of
her time. Lastly, I like this movie because it has amazing cinematography. The cinematographers put a lot
of effort in making this movie incredible.
A theme that can be withdrawn from this movie is, perseverance can lead to many benefits. For
example, Choi Chul Soo does not give up on his wife who is suffering from dementia. Instead, he
perseveres in helping his wife overcome her disease. He does not stop caring for his wife. In the end, he
manages to win her heart back by reenacting and helping his wife remember a moment that they once
experienced. Hence, the title of this movie, which is, A Moment to Remember.
If I had a family member that suffered from dementia, I would take care of that family member
with all my heart and soul. I would help him or her with anything that may be a complication to him or
herself. I would also follow in Choi Chul Soos footsteps which is to make a nametag for a family
member with dementia. This will make it easier for him or her to recognize him or herself. It would also
put down the heavy burden for anyone who may find this family member wandering about.
In conclusion, the movie, A Moment to Remember is a wonderful movie that teaches us many
moral values that can be helpful in our daily lives.
