8 Parts of Speech
(and Commas)
PowerPoint Book

This years theme:

A Trip Worthy of Remembering
Think of a trip that you have taken.
Where did you go?
How long were you there?
Did something memorable happen during your travel to
and from your destination?
Who went with you?
What were some of the activities you did?
Did you experience a new culture?
Did you learn something important about your own
country?
Why is this trip so memorable?

Share this trip with us. Make it positive and

interesting.

This years theme:

Cont.
You will have eight sentences in which to tell
us all about your trip.
There will be one sentence on each ppt slide.
*You will mark a word on each slide that
illustrates one of the eight parts of speech.
*You must also correctly use commas in four
different ways.

Lets get started.

Go to ToonDoo.com and get a free
account.

Become familiar with this program.

There is a lot that you can do with it.
You will be using it to make the scene
for each slide.

Step 1. Your Planning Sheet

1.Divide a Word document into 8 boxes; each
one represents a page (slide).
2.In each box, you will write one of your eight
sentences.

When your text is finished, you must decide which box

will be which part of speech. There is no specific order
to the parts of speech, but you must include all eight.
Add the part of speech and its definition to each slide.
You may have to revise a sentence to get all parts of
speech used. Underline the word that is your example.
Noun
A word that names a
person , place,
thing, or idea.

Verb
A word that shows
action, links, or
helps another verb.

prepositio
n

adjective

by the home of the knocked on the

adverb

interjection

Remember, you must also use commas in four

different ways. Again, you may have to revise a
sentence or two in order to accomplish this. Be sure
you bold the commas.
(When you are finished, submit a printed copy of this
sheet to Mrs. DeVries for editing.)

t, decide on one main character and several suppor

When each scene is done, snip it and paste

it onto a ppt slide.

Step 3 - Now, add the text from your

worksheet to the slide.

Step 5 - Dont forget to make a title

page!
