    March News

    We are learning
    Writing: In our expository writing unit we are learning how to respond to
    literature by including topic sentences, reasons with supports of example
    from the text and conclusions in our writing.
    Reading: Next week we will transition from our non-fiction unit to our unit
    of fiction texts. We will dig deeper into fiction texts be comparing and
    contrasting points of view and perspectives.
    Math: We have started our new unit of fractions this month. Some of the
    topics we are learning about are: parts of a whole, adding fractions with
    common denominators and word problems involving fractions.
    Science: We are beginning our matter unit in science this month. We will
    explore the different phases of matter and the transitions from each
    phase.
