Ferkos Classroom Acceptable Use Policy


(AUP)

Introduction:
We have a luxury of having accessibility to various forms of technology. Having access
to the Internet allows us to not only expand our classroom resources but also, provides
us with an extraordinary tool to improve our learning process. This technology
accessible is a LUXURY and should be used correctly. The purpose of this policy is to
outline the rules/guidelines for my students and parents on the use of technology inside
my classroom.
Students Computer Rules:
1) Students may NOT use of the computer for any reason unless given permission.
2) Students may only use the computer in the presence of a Teacher.
3) May ONLY access the applications and Internet sites, which are approved.
4) If the computers are not being used correctly or are being intentionally harmed,
the student(s) will be disciplined by the disciplined policy below.
5) The teacher MUST approve all printing before doing so.
6) Students will NOT be charged for printing approved work.
7) Students will have the opportunity to print in both black/white and color.
Students iPad Rules:
1) iPads may ONLY be used when a teacher is present.
2) iPads will be used for specific learning tools as well as expanding on classroom
work, using them for other purposed not approved by the teacher will be
disciplined by the disciplined policy below.
3) Students will NOT be charged to use the iPads.
4) Students should properly carry and transport the iPads throughout the classroom
as properly taught before using.
Misuse of Technology:
Our classroom has the luxury of having both computers and iPads to share within our
classroom. Students should following the AUP above in order to provide a safe, and
proper environment in the classroom. Student(s) misusing of any form of technology or
not properly following the rules above will be disciplined based on the severity of the

action. The classroom teacher will handle most actions, however, the schools principal
will be involved if the severity of the action requires such action.
