The Korean national basketball team is administered by the


Korea Basketball Association (Korean: ).
Based on the number of overall medals won, South Korea is a
major force among basketball teams of FIBA Asia. The team
has won a record number of 24 medals at the FIBA Asia
Championship.

The Japanese national basketball team is governed by the


Japan Basketball Association (JBA). (Japanese:
).
Japan has one of the most successful basketball teams in
Asia. It has won the Asian Basketball Championships twice
and is the second leading nation in qualifications to the event.
The team qualified for the Olympic Games six times and for
the FIBA World Cup four times.
In the last decades, Japan brought forth several of Asia's elite
basketball players who competed in the NBA and in Europe.
These players include Yuta Tabuse, J.R. Sakuragi, Takuya
Kawamura, Takumi Ishizaki and others. However, they rarely
play for the national team, which caused Team Japan to fall
behind Asia's elite competition from Iran, South Korea,
Philippines and China.

The Singapore national basketball team is managed by the


Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS), formerly the
Singapore Amateur Basketball Association (SABA).
At the Asian Basketball Championship, the country had its
prime time between 1971 and 1993 when it qualified for 12
straight events. Since 2001, the team has been one of the
contenders at the Southeast Asian Basketball Championship.
There, the team won two bronze medals to date.

The Malaysia national basketball team is organized and run


by the Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA). (Malay:
Persatuan Bola Keranjang Malaysia)
The team had its prime time between 1960 and 1995 when it
qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship, Asia's most
prestigious basketball tournament, 18 times in a row. In 1986 it
qualified for the world cup, its most noteworthy
accomplishment to date.

The Football Association of the People's Republic of


China (Simplified Chinese: ), or commonly
known as the Chinese Football Association (CFA), is the
governing body of football in the People's Republic of
China.Original formed in Beijing during 1924. During 1955 in
Beijing, the CFA refused to affiliate itself with any other major
association until it joined the Asian Football Confederation in
1974,followed up with FIFA once more in 1979. Since rejoining
FIFA, the CFA claims to be a non-governmental and a non
profit organization, but in fact the CFA is the same bureau with
Management Center of Football, which is a department of the
Chinese State General Administration of Sports.

Mongolia

The Mongolia national football team represents the


Republic of Mongolia in international football under the
Mongolian Football Federation.
Founded in 1959 the association was inactive between 1960
and 1998 when the team did not feature in any international
fixtures. From the few games played since 1998, Mongolians
have won only nine games played against five different
nations within the AFC (four against Guam, two each against
Macau and Northern Mariana Islands and one each against
Myanmar and the Philippines). The Mongolian Football
Federation is in the Asian Football Confederation and the East
Asian Football Federation.

Chinese Taipei
national
football team

The Chinese Taipei national football team is the official


name given by FIFA to the national association football team
of the Republic of China.
It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation's
East Asian Football Federation. Despite never qualifying for
the FIFA World Cup, Taiwan reached the semi-finals of the
1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former.
The side also won gold in the football sector at the 1954 and
1958 Asian Games.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea national


football team (recognized as Korea DPR by FIFA and known

colloquially and in the media as North Korea) is controlled by


the DPR Korea Football Association, the governing body for
football in North Korea.
The current team is composed of both native North Koreans
and Chongryon-affiliated Koreans born in Japan.
