Cone Soccer

Number of Players:
20 students
10 students per a team (2 teams)
Teams will be preselected by the teacher
Positions:
3 attack per a team (cannot pass the midcourt line)
3 defense per a team (cannot pass the midcourt line)
4 midfielders (can go anywhere on the court)
Facilities:
Basketball court (94ft by 50ft)
Equipment:
1 soccer ball
2 traffic cones
2 wiffleballs
10 pinnies (all the same color)
Outcomes:
Students will learn to dribble the soccer ball in tight spaces
because of the smaller court size
Students will learn the value of passing in team sports do to the
small court size
Students will learn how to shout for small targets because the
size of the cone is significantly smaller than a soccer net.

Rules & Regulations:


10 students per a team
teacher will flip a coin to determine which team gets ball first
teacher will determine when the game ends
no goalies
the cone will be placed in the middle of the paint on the
basketball court with the wiffle ball balancing on top of it.
each side will have a cone with a wiffle ball on it
all students are not allowed to go inside the paint
If defensive team goes inside the paint it will result
in a penalty kick
If offensive team goes inside the paint it will result in
a change of position
the ball is placed on the foul line for the penalty kick
both teams are allowed to line up on the other 3 sides of the
paint to kick the ball after the penalty kick
teacher randomly picks students for the penalty kick
students are not allowed to use their hands at any time during
the game
to score the offensive team has to knock the wiffle ball off of the
cone (1 point)
after the ball is knocked of the cone the other team gets the ball
at half court
player that starts with the ball has to pass it to a
teammate before making any moves with the ball
Teacher will referee and determine when the ball is out of
bounds
boundaries are the basketball court lines
First team to 10 wins
Students can rotate positions every 2 goals
Safety:
Be careful when you kick. NO kicking other students
Eyes up when you are running, a lot of students in one game.
Extensions:
UP: Put a smaller cone in the paint.

DOWN: Let one offensive student inside the paint when their
team has position of the ball.

3v3 Lacrosse

Number of Players:
20 students
3 students per a team (2 teams of 4)
Students will get in a straight line and teacher will count off by
6
Positions:
3 attack per a team (cannot pass the midcourt line)
3 defense per a team (cannot pass the midcourt line)
4 midfielders (can go anywhere on the court)
Facilities:
Football field (50 yards by 120 yards)
Equipment:
20 lacrosse sticks
12 pinnies
10 tennis balls
6 hockey nets or pop-up nets
20 cones
Outcomes:
Students will learn how to make short passes because the field
will be smaller than a normals lacrosse field
Students will learn how to find the open player on their team
because the offense will always be in a man-up situation
Rules & Regulations:
Teacher will determine when the games end and how to rotate
from field to field
Teams will rock, paper, scissor for who gets ball first

3 people per a team(the teams with 4 will have 1 sub)


The sub can be the scorekeeper or the referee
The offensive team will have 3 players
The defensive team will have 2 and a goalie
When the ball changes position the team has to clear it to the
center line (red line in diagram)
Boundaries will be marked with cones on the field (red lines in
diagram)
1 point for every goal
If you shoot the ball and miss, the position goes to the
player/team closest to the ball when it goes out of bounds.
You can pass it as many times as needed to score
The substitutes will go in every goal whichever one comes first
You can switch goalies at any point of the game
NO CHECKING with the stick
Safety:
Do not hit other students with the lacrosse sticks
Do not shoot it as hard as you can.
If teacher sees you shooting it too hard, he/she will
give the student one warning and then they will be sitting out
Extensions:
UP: offensive team only gets 4 passes and then they have to
shoot
DOWN: take away the goalie

Continuous 3v2 lacrosse

Number of players:
20 students
10 students per a team (2 teams)
Teams randomly selected by teacher
Positions:
3 offensive players
2 defensive
Facilities:
Football field (50 yards by 120 yards)
Equipment:
20 lacrosse sticks
10 lacrosse balls or tennis balls
2 lacrosse nets
2 lacrosse targets (take the place of a goalie)
10 pinnies
Outcomes:
Be able to shoot accurately with a lacrosse stick because the
targets will be more difficult than a goalie
Be able to communicate effectively when playing defense
because you will be man down
Rules & Regulations:
3 offensive players on the field at all times
2 defensive players on the field at all times
Teacher will predetermine the teams before class
Teacher will determine how long the game will go for
3 lines behind the net
2 lines to the left of the net

1 line to the right of the net


The rotation of the game goes from offense to defense to the
back of the line
when on offense, the person that scores or throws the ball
away(causes the change of possession) goes to the back of the line
and doesn't play defense
the other 2 offensive players get back on defense
the 2 defensive students go to the back of the line and 3 knew
offensive players step out
1 point for every goal
There will be extra lacrosse/tennis balls in the back of the
lacrosse net.
to start a new offensive set a student has to pick up the ball
from the back of the net

Extensions:
UP: Make it 3 on 3 instead of 3 on 2

DOWN: take away the targets and just have an open net
Safety:
Keep your eyes up when if line because you could get hit with
the ball
no checking with the lacrosse sticks

Sideline Ball

Number of players:
20 students
10 students per a team
teacher will have 20 popsicle sticks that the students will
choose from (10 are colored, 10 are not colored)
Positions:
Offense (5)
Pointguard
shooting guard
center
small forward
power forward
Defense (5)
Sideline (10)
Facilities:
Basketball court (94ft by 50ft)
Equipment:
10 pinnies
1 basketball
Outcomes:
Be able to pass to teammates while being pressured by the
defense
Be able to play defense on a team that is trying its hardest to
score
Rules:

Teacher will keep track of substitutes to make sure every


student gets equal playing time
teacher will determine how long the game is
No double dribbling
no traveling
out of bounds is the basketball court lines
if the ball goes out of bounds the ball will be thrown in by the
other team
when student has the ball he/she can only dribble the ball 3
times
after they dribble it 3 times they must stop moving
if they dribble more than 3 times it is a change of possession
Students can pass it to their teammates on the sideline
students on the side line can move up and down the
sideline until they have the ball then they can't move
Students on the sidelines can only pass the ball
they can not shoot the ball
point system (2 points for inside the arch and 3 points for
behind the 3 point line)
If students are fouled they well just check the ball at halfcourt
and continue playing
no foul shots
Students will rotate every 3 minutes
Teacher will keep the time

Extensions
UP: Take away the dribbling aspect of the game all together
DOWN: let students dribble as much as they want like in a
regular game

Goaltimate

Number of players:
20 students
10 students per a team (2 teams)
randomly selected by the teacher
Positions:
every student plays offense and defense
can go anywhere on the field
Facilities:
Football field (50 yards by 120 yards)
Equipment:
1 frisbee
2 soccer goals
10 pinnies
Outcomes:
Be able to hit a large target (soccer goal) when throwing the
frisbee
Be able to use basic offensive screens to move the frisbee
down the field to score
Rules & Regulations:
If the frisbee hits the ground it is a change of possession
When you have the frisbee you can only take 3 steps and then
you have to throw it
when on defense you can not guard the student with the frisbee
There are no goalies but students can block the frisbee from
going into the goal
1 point for every goal
the boundaries are the football field sidelines
Can not knock the frisbee out of anyone's hands

frisbee has to be in the air when it goes into the goal for it to
count
first to 10 wins
Extensions:
UP: Make the size of the net smaller
DOWN: Make the area to score the touchdown, instead of a
net.
Safety:
Always know where the frisbee is, it can hit you in the face or
head.
