The book fair is coming back to Herbert Mills! We will be hosting the
Scholastic
Feelin Groovy Book Fair
March 7 - March 11. The book fair will be open during all lunch
periods, as well as during our 1st Grade Lunch with a Loved One on Tuesday, March 8 and
from 6:00-6:30pm during the Innovation Showcase on Thursday evening, March 10.
Students will find amazing books to purchase during this peace, love and book-filled
week! Students can also expect to see new books introduced during Morning Roar so
they have ideas of what they might like to buy. Students should be sure to get caught
reading during library time because Mrs. Messick will be handing out reading tickets that
can be turned in for prizes during the book fair!

Teacher Spotlight!
The fourth grade team is so lucky to have found Ms. Tracy Martz this year. With a
Bachelors degree from Ohio Dominican and a Masters degree from Walden
University in Mathematics and Reading, Ms. Martz has been an incredible addition
to Mills. Previously Ms. Martz taught 2nd grade for five years and grades 1-5 for
four years in Georgia. This year has been so much fun for Ms. Martz as she loves
the flexibility that teaching through STEM gives to her and her students. She has
hoped through the year that her students would gain self-confidence and learn
to not be afraid of thinking differently than the norm. Outside of school you can
catch Ms. Martz spending time with her daughter, going to the zoo, and running!

Keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or bad cough/cold
Teach your children the importance of thorough, frequent hand washing and the
appropriate use of hand sanitizers when soap and water are not available.
Remind your children to cough and sneeze into their elbow, not their hands.
Make sure your children know to use tissues when needed, to throw dirty tissues
in the trash and to wash their hands after tissue use
.
Donations of tissues, hand sanitizers (unscented), and antibacterial cleansing wipes are
always appreciated by teachers and staff!
