It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Lisa Dailey. I have known Lisa for two years in my role supervising her administrative licensure coursework and internship at PSU. Our coursework is extremely rigorous with very high expectations, and Lisa has continually demonstrated exceptional work, with a deep desire to be the best, a very positive disposition, and a willingness to continually learn and improve so as to better serve our teachers, families, and children. Lisas internship work has had a strong equity focus, with projects implemented in her school and district, and data disaggregated by race, ethnicity or other gender. For example, she has led key projects that bring teachers and administrators together to use an additional math support class and interim assessments to identify learning targets so students could reach graduation requirements through OAKS, Smarter Balanced, or work sample assessments. This has resulted in all but 3 students meeting graduation requirements by April; the 3 remaining students have additional interventions in place to ensure they succeed by their senior year. Lisa is also responsible for a senior math intervention class in which all but 7 students are on target for graduation; a strong plan coordinating special education case managers and others is in place to ensure the 7 students graduate in their 5th year in high school. This kind of focus on each childs success is what makes Lisa a strong leader. Beyond these leadership roles, Lisa also serves as the site council chair, department lead, and other site-based plans for discipline supports. She has demonstrated the ability to bring diverse community members and teachers together to impact change, and throughout all projects has had a very positive attitude, especially during stressful projects with short timelines and high expectations. Lisas character, energy, collaborative style, and instructional focus on each child make her a strong candidate, and I can recommend her highly and without reservation for a VP or AP position. Sincerely yours, Deborah Peterson Deborah Peterson, Ed.D. Former Elementary and High School Principal Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy
