Agenda

KS3 Progress, levels and marking


Comments:
o TL and VW suggested that various reading tests, the trip
to Marwell Zoo and other events had resulted in progress
through the SOL had been delayed.
o ACTION: All year 8 groups will aim to have completed Baseline
tests, E-safety, Algorithms and Harry Plotter spreadsheet
projects by Half Term
o Year 7 will continue with Spreadsheets for an additional two
weeks after Half Term as a result the computer systems SOL for
Year 7 will be shortened.
o VW suggested that changes to software in Room 6 meant
that part of the Year 9 Spreadsheet SOL may be
inappropriate or inaccessible
o ACTION: MN to adapt spreadsheets accordingly
o All members of department to ensure students are using level
sheet to record progress
KS4 progress, levels and marking
o Year 10 ICT GCSE groups working through practice assessment
with aim of finishing at Half Term
o ACTION: MN to select appropriate Creative Use of ICT controlled
assessment from OCR Interchange for commencement after Half
term
o Year 10 Computing GCSE groups working on double theory (MN)
and single programming (VW)
o ACTION: VW to select appropriate programming controlled
assessment to start mid November.
o MN and VW to swap singles and doubles in ICT / Computing to
allow progress in CAs.
o Year 11 Computing GCSE working towards deadline on A453 Unit
(Programming at beginning of November)
o ACTION: VW to arrange HT intervention 26/10
o Raspberry Pi computers to be ordered for arrival prior to Half
Term for practice on Practical Investigation (A452)
o Year 11 BTEC ICT all group working through Online World revision
o ACTION: MN to arrange HT intervention 29/10
Other Business
o Lack of Python in Rm 6 is causing considerable problems and
room swaps for ICT and computing
o Issues with student directories being seen as My Documents
but without name is stopping the implementation of new
marking and feedback system
