1. What are your goals and objectives for this lesson?

My goal is for students to work on summarizing a passage and understanding the
declaration of independence.
2. What are some specific things you would like observed?
-My confidence with the students, my ability to integrate two subjects, and my classroom
management
To be completed by the Observer:
3. Strengths to continue to build on:
-Video was a great idea to build background knowledge and remind the kids what they
already know about the declaration of independence
- Great discussion with the students while you were reading the passage! The kids were
naturally curious about the topic and you did a great job facilitating the conversation.
-Continue to build your strength of keeping the kids focused on the task at hand. You did
a great job reining them in when they tried to discuss your FitBit, college, movies, etc.
4. Suggestions for future lessons:
-Standing up and walking around to monitor while we read the passage first is a
good idea to make sure each student is on task. Especially because we were very
spread out
-Remind them to chunk their paragraphs and annotate the main idea of each chunk
on the right to refer back to when they are answer
