METHOD STATEMENT FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PLAIN PLASTER


REINSTATEMENT
1. AREA OF WORK

3. SUBSTRATE REPAIR
3.1 Crack repair
Cracks with a width of less than 2mm are only visible at the plastered surface hence
no repaired will be carried out. The existing cracks will be covered with base coat

3.2 Patches and holes


Patches and holes are visible on the exterior and interior plaster as figured below

Remove the patch manually using a chisel and hammer


Patch back the area with Render materials to match the existing plaster

Remove the loose plaster around the holes manually using a chisel and
hammer
Patch back the hole with a Render to match the existing plaster

3.3 Surface treatment


Biocide will be applied on the plastered substrate as per the steps mentioned
below.
-

Clean the plaster substrate with an air blower or with a wire brush to eliminate
the lose materials on substrate.
Apply biocide with a brush on the substrate for 1-2 times to kill the mycelia and
wait for a reaction time of 6 hours

Then the consolidant will we applied on the substrate as per the steps
mentioned below.

Consolidant will be applied on the surface according to the flow coating


procedure until the substrate is no longer absorbed.
- Let the substrate for 7 days for curing.
To verify the effectiveness of the consolidant treatment, a quality control
check using the DRMS test should be carried out before and after
application on selected locations

4. Application of Silicate paint

Clean the substrate well.


Mix r primer well before use, and apply a single coat with a brush or a roller
and protect it from rain for at least 12 hours
Then apply Base coat as per the product specifications
Then apply two coats of silicate paint with approved colour with a roller and
brush.
