Vesper Race

Vespers are creatures from the dark lands of the Veil. These souls were harvested by the
source and twisted into a new race. It started with 13 souls turned back into the living. Each of the
original 13 started a blood line. Each bloodline is identified by its last name. (Griffin, Thorn, Wolf,..)
Once created these creatures created more of their kinds until there were hundreds of them.
Vespers are born much as humans. They grow very fast growing to adult hood in three years.
Their bodies have the small start of its wings on its shoulder blades at birth. Around on year tiny nubs
start appearing on the temples of their heads. The wings grow to 5 long and the horns grow up to 1.
Their skin color can range from any common human color to a deep red, purple or black. The average
life span of a Vesper is 40 years.
The teeth of the Vespers are very sharp. Biting is a common greeting among Vespers. Vespers
spend a great deal of time involved in fighting, eating, and mating. Some activities combined all three.
None feel education holds any importance. The blood of a Vesper is like sunlight for a Vampire.
Slavery is commonly accepted. Other races and even Vespers whom own a debt to another
may find themselves a slave for a short time. Upon the death of a Vesper its slaves are taken to the
center of town and released. All other Vespers may capture, kill and eat any slaves that are there.

Vespers have low light vision of 15.

Vespers make special armor to wear. In there eyes armor

involves crushed gem stones and special oar mined only in the Veil.

Another magical tattoo that can be put on the body is an enhancement tattoo. It can give a
+6 to COM score, +3 to STR or DEX. Some Tattoos give night vision to the wearer.
Vespers have their own Weapons much like their armor. The main use of the weapon is to
cause pain.

Sweeping

Blades are flat and wide. There is a better chance of this item breaking at each
hit. Allows the user to sweep one additional target in the same striking area
each Turn.

Weapons loaded with a contact poison. Upon the push of a button the hallow
weapon drips with poison. Weapons drip for 10 Turns once activated. The
poison dries after one hour of exposure to the air.

2d4 slashing damage from sharp plates on armor. 1/ day the wearer may
launch 6 razor plates at a target for 2 HP of damage each.

Vespers can link together several slaves or servants to one master by having them wear the
family crest. This is usually pinned to a part of the servants body. There is a master crest that the
Vesper wears. They can then exchange messages with any one wearing one of the slave pins. There
are 3D6 slave pins for every master crest. The master crest can have the slave pins do 2D6 damage to
the wearer for each EP they spend.
Vespers may decide to punish slaves by use of a very old magical device called the Iron
Maiden of Preservation. A living body is pressed into this coffin shaped box filled with sharp spikes.
Every other Turn the spikes do D6 damage. On the other Turn it heals the captive inside 2D6 HP.
Keeping the pain going on for hours or even days.
Another small item rarely found on Vespers is the nipple clamp of pleasure. This item turns all
feelings of pain to feelings of pleasure.
Half-Vesper:
Vespers produce children when they mate with other races. These children are never seen as
real vespers. The unpopular name of muddied bloods is used to describe them. Most of the time,
these children are used to further the goals of the Vesper parent. Going back to the world of man to
accomplish tasks the Vesper could not do himself. All carry the crest of their family with them. Some
half-Vespers go on to make a name for themselves gaining status all the way up to head of a Vesper
bloodline.
Half-Vespers or muddied bloods look like the other parent for the most part. They have no
wings or horns. They keep the low light vision of 15 ability and the bite attack of 2D4. They live the
full life time of the other race mixed with the Vesper and have no problem passing as the other race.
Some are taught from birth to be like Vespers while others are eaten giving an additional year or two to
the Vespers life. Tattooing is common with half-Vespers but their skin can only hold one magical tattoo.

Vesper Race
All Half-Vespers have a derangement from the Vesper side that is incurable. These conditions can be
controlled with medication. Below is the derangement list.
